1A — AC First Class

AC First Class coaches are divided into private coupés of two berths and cabins of four, each with a door that locks from inside. Bedding is provided, an attendant is assigned to the coach, and the fare is roughly six and a half times the Sleeper fare for the same distance. Rajdhani and a few long-distance expresses carry 1A; most Mail and Express trains do not.

On cancellation 1A carries the highest flat charge, ₹240 plus GST per passenger, and for berth allotment the coach layout is unlike any other, with berths numbered by cabin rather than by bay.
