2S — Second Sitting

A reserved, numbered seat in a non-AC coach: the cheapest way to have a guaranteed place on a daytime train.

Second Sitting is the reserved seating class without air-conditioning, in 3+3 rows, on intercity and passenger-type expresses. Unlike the General coach, every 2S seat is numbered and booked to a passenger. It is the class most short daytime journeys are booked in when a berth is not needed.

The cancellation flat charge is ₹60 per passenger, no GST. Tatkal for 2S opens at 11:00 IST with the other non-AC classes.
