Clerkage is the charge for processing a cancellation where no berth was ever held. It applies per passenger to RAC and waitlisted tickets cancelled up to 30 minutes before departure, and to fully waitlisted e-tickets that the system cancels automatically at charting. The amount is ₹60 plus 5% GST.
A partially confirmed booking, where some passengers are confirmed and others waitlisted, has the confirmed passengers charged under the slab rules and the waitlisted ones charged clerkage. Inside the last 30 minutes before departure no refund is given on an RAC or waitlisted ticket.
