Premium Tatkal

A Tatkal quota on selected trains sold at a dynamic fare that rises as berths sell, with the same one-day window and no refund at all.

Premium Tatkal is a separate quota, offered on a subset of popular trains, whose fare is not fixed: it starts at the Tatkal fare and rises in steps as the quota fills. It opens at the same time as ordinary Tatkal, follows the AC clock, and is available only online, never at a counter or through an agent.

No refund is given on a Premium Tatkal ticket for any reason short of the train being cancelled. It is a way to buy a confirmed berth at a price, not a cheaper Tatkal.
