The Foreign Tourist quota is a small allotment on many long-distance trains for visitors to India. It keeps a 365-day advance reservation period, far longer than the general 60 days, and is booked online through IRCTC with each passenger’s passport number.
IRCTC opens it to foreign tourists including NRIs, booked from an account registered with a non-Indian mobile number and paid by international card. It carries a ₹200 + GST service charge per ticket, and cancelling deducts 50% of the fare on top of the normal charges.
